Kelly Briggs (Dar) A
native of Bordentown New Jersey. He received the Gwen Verdon Scholarship
to study musical theater in New York City and appeared in the films
"Fame" and "Hair" . After performing in Summer Stock productions and
some Regional theater, Kelly joined the National Tour of "Les Miserables"
as the Bishop of Digne and understudy to Jean Valjean and Mssr.
Thenardier. After 6 years of touring, Kelly joined the
Broadway company of "Les Mis" for 1 year before moving to the Broadway
company of "Cats" performing with Liz Callaway and Laurie Beechman .
Kelly was also the host of the nationally syndicated television show
"DEBATES/DEBATES". He has performed his nightclub act throughout
the country and on cruise ships and appeared on many telethons. He
received a Bistro Award and MAC nominations for his work. Kelly
co-produced with Keith Cooper and directed a series of concerts at
Caesars and Resorts in Atlantic City to benefit the South Jersey Aids
Alliance. "Broadway On The Boardwalk" featured Andrea McArdle, Melba
Moore, Terri White, Julie Budd , Frank Gorshin,Gary Beach and many
others . "Lovely" a musical comedy along with Jerry Christakos and John
McMahon received the Nightlife Award for Best Musical Comedy. Kelly is
also a casting director for the Cohoes Music Hall in Cohoes New York and
TriArts at the Sharon Playhouse in Sharon Connecticut.

Jerry
Christakos
(Christy
Vann de Camp)
Originally from Chicago Jerry Christakos attended the University of
Arizona in Tucson on a Vocal Music scholarship and quickly picked up
the theater bug appearing in lead roles in
The Boyfriend, Over Here
and She Loves Me.
After moving to the Washington D.C. area he immediately appeared in
productions at Burn Brae and The Harlequin Dinner Theaters, and was
seen as Patrick Dennis in Mame
at the City Line Dinner Theater in Philadelphia. He began his
professional career, again in D.C., with Arena Stage’s
Candide, and performed
various lead roles at The West End and The Hayloft Dinner Theaters,
the Olney Summer Theater, and performed cabaret regularly at The Bread
Oven Restaurant. In addition, he starred in the Washington premiere of
Forbidden Broadway and
later joined the Boston company, followed by the role of Sal in the
Boston premiere of Niteclub
Confidential. Mr. Christakos performed lead roles in
My One And Only,
Kismet,
Annie, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, My
Fair Lady, Guys and Dolls and
Lend Me A Tenor at The Forestburgh Playhouse, and was seen
at the Darien Dinner Theater in 42nd
Street and The Student
Prince, in which he played the role of Detleff. In
addition, he appeared in Wonderful
Town at The Goodspeed Opera House, and starred in
The All Night Strut at
Detroit’s Gem Theater. He was then cast in the national tour of
Les Miserables where he
portrayed the student leader Enjolras and, incidentally, became
acquainted with collaborator and
Lovely co-star Kelly Briggs. He later joined the national
tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber: Music
of The Night as a featured soloist. Mr. Christakos was
fortunate to originate the
role of Gabriel in the Toronto, London and Broadway productions of
Kiss of the Spider Woman.
While in London he organized and hosted the
Kiss of The Spider Woman
cabaret to benefit the West End Cares organization. Also, he was
featured in Hot ‘n’ Cole
at Actors’ Theater of Louisville and Florida Stage, and toured with
A Swell Party: The Cole Porter
Songbook. Most recently he has appeared as Henry Higgins in
My Fair Lady at the
Cohoes Music Hall and was reunited after twenty years with
Forbidden
Broadway appearing in the
current Off-Broadway hit version
Forbidden Broadway: Special Victim’s Unit.

John McMahon
(Piano/Musical Director) Born in Wildwood, New Jersey, John
attended the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. to
study opera. He ended up as musical director for three USO
tours, entertaining troops in Germany and Iceland. He has worked
as a pianist, vocal couch, composer and conductor with performers such
as: Lea DeLaria, Lois Sage, Heather MacRae, Helen Schneider, Phyllis
Pastore, Charles Cermele, Liliane Montevecchi, Tommy Femia, Mr. Ruby
Rims, Florence Henderson, Andre De Shields, Jo Anne Worley, Sylvia
Miles, Laura Belle Bundy, Maria Getz, Elaine Brier and the late great
Bruce Hopkins. He has worked and toured as musical director for
Chicago City Limits. Johns' theater credits include
Prince of Central Park (Broadway), Oh! Kay! (Off-Broadway),
Ruthless!, and Whoop Dee Doo! Review. He was the
musical conductor and co-creator of the musical revue Bottoms Up!
and directed Absolutely Rude! and musical directed Space
Trek, both by Rick Com. Also a composer, John has composed
original music for the spoof musical, Below the Valley of the Dolls
and for the musical Satan's School for Girls, which was
nominated for a Jeffery award for its Chicago run at the Circle
Theatre. John can be heard on the soundtrack of the critically
acclaimed Japanese made-for-television movie A Table for Two.
A Bistro Award Winner, his original revue, written with lyricist Jay
Jefferies, "That's My New York" won a 2002 Manhattan
Association of Cabarets (MAC) award for the song "Where's Shirley?".
His jazz arrangement of Sondheim's "The Ballad of Sweeney Todd" can be
heard on Lea Delaria's CD "Play it Cool". |
